How to Search Jefferson County Court Dockets
Open the Colorado Judicial Branch docket portal at coloradojudicial.gov/dockets. The URL prefilters to Jefferson County (county code 30) and a one-week date range. From there, add filters to narrow the list to the case you need. The form supports name, case-class, case-number, and attorney searches.
No login is needed. The search runs in any browser. Results are paginated. The sample result set seen at the live URL showed pages of records and Next, Previous, and Last controls. Each row gives the schedule info for one hearing, not the entire case file.
- Open the docket portal and confirm Jefferson County is selected.
- Pick the courthouse: Jefferson Combined Court.
- Pick the court type: Both, County, or District.
- Set the date range. Pick today, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or a specific date.
- Add at least one more filter. The form requires it. Use a last name, case class, division, or attorney bar number.
- If you have a case number, split it into year, class, and sequence.
- Click Search. Wait for the list to load.
- Review each row: date, time, duration, name, case number, hearing type, location, appearance type, courtroom.
- Use Export Results or Printable Version to keep a working copy.
- For full documents, switch to the Record/Document Request Form and write the Clerk of Court.
Required Search Filters
The portal page states that you can use any of the fields to find a list of dockets. It also requires at least one filter in addition to date. Date alone returns nothing useful. The form is built that way to keep result sets short and readable.
Pick a filter that matches what you know. A name search runs against active party names on the case. A case-class search returns every hearing in that class for the date range. An attorney bar number returns every hearing in cases where that attorney is on the record. Mix filters as needed.

Jefferson County Case Number Components
A Colorado case number has three parts: year, class, and sequence. The docket form lets you fill each piece on its own. A four-digit year goes in the year field. A class code (CR, M, DR, PR, T, and so on) goes in the case class dropdown. The sequence goes in the case sequence text field.
Examples seen in the Jefferson County result list: 2025C656, 2026DR97, 2025CR1977, 2026C34061, 2024CR2922. Each ties to a specific kind of file. CR is felony. M is misdemeanor. DR is domestic relations. PR is probate. T is traffic. C, CV, and S are civil and small claims. CW is water court. JD and JV are juvenile.
Party and Attorney Searches
The form has two search tabs for parties. The Individual tab uses first name and last name. The Business tab uses a single business-name field. The Attorney section also has two tabs. Attorney Name uses first and last. Attorney Bar Number uses a single bar-number field. Either path returns every hearing in cases where that party or attorney is on the record.
Names in result rows often display in all caps. Spell the last name correctly. Try common variants if the first search comes up empty (initials, hyphens, suffixes). Bar number is usually the cleanest search if you have it.

Exporting and Printing Jefferson County Dockets
The docket portal includes Export Results and Printable Version controls. Both appear after a search runs. Export pushes the result list to a downloadable file. Printable Version opens a print-friendly page in the browser. Either output is fine for a working list of upcoming hearings or for a sanity check before a court date.
Use export for large result sets you want to share or analyze. Use the printable version for short lists you plan to bring into court. The result list itself is the same in both formats, but the layout differs.
Which Jefferson County Courts Set Dockets
Two trial courts share the Jefferson Combined Court building and both set dockets that show on the public list. District Court runs felony, higher civil, domestic relations, juvenile, probate, and mental health matters. County Court runs misdemeanors, traffic, civil cases under $25,000, small claims under $7,500, and protection orders. Each has its own divisions and division numbers. Filter by Court Type in the docket search to view one branch on its own.
Magistrates in Jefferson County also set hearings on the public list. The 1st Judicial District has 10 magistrates handling divisions L, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, Y, and Z. A magistrate hearing appears in the docket result rows the same way a judge hearing does. The case number and courtroom code tell you which division is on calendar that day.
Tips for Reading a Jefferson County Docket Row
A few small details help when reading the list. Time entries use 12-hour clock. A 7:00 AM hearing is early, often a bond advisement. An 8:00 AM hearing is a common docket start time. Durations of five minutes usually mean a short status or non-contested matter. Durations of one hour or more usually mean a contested hearing or trial slot.
Courtroom codes mix letters and numbers. A code like T or O often signals a magistrate division. A code like 260, 360, 500, or 520 often signals a judge division. Appearance Type tells you whether you must show up in person. IN PERSON means you have to be there. NO APPEARANCE REQUIRED means the court will handle the matter without a party at the podium.
What Jefferson County Dockets Do Not Show
A docket result is a schedule. It is not a case file. The Jefferson County docket list does not include scanned pleadings, motions, orders, exhibits, financial balances, payment history, juror information, sealed cases, suppressed cases, or full party details beyond the name shown. The result list also does not show document download links.
For documents and the full register of actions, switch to the Clerk of Court's record/document request process. The form lives at coloradojudicial.gov/recorddocument-request-form. Plain copies are $0.25 a page. Certified copies are $20 per document. Responses come within three business days.
Note: A docket entry can update through the day, so re-run the search the morning of a hearing to confirm time, courtroom, and any reset.
From Docket to Full Court File
Once a docket row gives you a case number, you can ask the Clerk for documents. The official record/document request form takes case number, party name, year filed, document type, and certification flag. The Clerk's records counter at 100 Jefferson County Parkway in Golden also accepts walk-ins Monday through Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. The records counter is closed on Friday.
